IT Support Jobs: Which Companies Are Hiring Now
396 IT support roles open at 129 tech companies on 3 November 2026: technical support, in-house IT and help desk roles, who's hiring, remote work and pay.
On 3 November 2026, 396 IT support and operations roles were open at 129 tech companies that Tideline follows. Most of them are not help desk jobs. The biggest group is technical support engineers, who help a company’s customers use its software: 160 roles at 54 companies. In-house IT, the people who look after a company’s own staff and systems, accounts for 157 more.
Every number here comes from the companies’ own job boards on that date. Tideline’s search, filtered to IT support, shows the same field live, so use this article to understand what the roles are and the search to see what is open today.
What IT support roles are called, and how they differ
“IT support” covers two different jobs that share a name.
- Technical support helps the company’s customers. At a software company that is technical work: reading logs, reproducing a bug, explaining an API, and passing what you find to the engineers. Titles: technical support engineer, support engineer, technical services engineer, and at AI companies, AI support engineer.
- In-house IT looks after the company’s own staff: laptops, accounts, access, networks, office and data centre equipment. Titles: IT support specialist, IT support engineer, IT engineer, systems administrator, IT operations analyst, and help desk or service desk.
| Kind of role | Open roles | Companies |
|---|---|---|
| Technical support engineers | 160 | 54 |
| In-house IT support and IT engineers | 56 | 41 |
| Business systems and other | 45 | 20 |
| IT management, compliance and projects | 36 | 27 |
| Technical support specialists and analysts | 34 | 21 |
| Systems administrators | 22 | 12 |
| IT operations | 20 | 11 |
| Data centre IT technicians | 12 | 1 |
| Help desk, service desk, desktop support | 11 | 9 |
Each role is counted once, in the first group its title fits. “Business systems and other” is the administrators and integration engineers who run tools such as Workday, NetSuite or Workato, plus a few titles that fit nowhere else.
Help desk, service desk and desktop support are what many people picture when they search for IT support jobs, and they are the smallest group here: 11 roles at 9 companies (Ivalua and Nebius 2 each; Crytek, Deliveroo, Five9, HackerOne, iCapital, Podium and Prominent Edge 1 each). At these companies, in-house support roles more often go by other titles, such as IT support specialist, IT support technician or IT support engineer (56 roles), so search for those as well.
Tech support jobs: technical support engineers
Technical support engineers are the largest group: 160 roles at 54 companies. OpenAI has 24 of them, MongoDB 13, GitLab 8, Cloudflare 7, and Twilio, Replit and Supabase 6 each.
The job sits between customers and the engineering team. A ticket arrives (“our requests started failing at 2 a.m.”), the support engineer reproduces it, reads the logs, finds whether it is the customer’s setup or a real bug, and either fixes it or writes it up for the engineers. Titles vary by company: technical services engineer, developer support engineer, and dedicated, designated, assigned or premium support engineer all appear in the data.
These roles are remote more often than any other kind in this field: 52 of the 160. Next to them are 34 technical support specialist and analyst roles at 21 companies (Crypto.com, Twilio and Adyen 3 each).
In-house IT support jobs
In-house IT adds up to 157 roles:
- In-house IT support and IT engineers: 56 roles at 41 companies. Anthropic has 5, OpenAI and Sony Interactive Entertainment 3 each. Titles: IT support specialist, IT support technician, IT support engineer, IT engineer, IT administrator.
- IT management, compliance and projects: 36 roles at 27 companies: IT managers, IT project managers, asset management, and IT audit and controls roles, many of them at financial companies.
- Systems administrators: 22 roles at 12 companies, 10 of them at Truelogic.
- IT operations: 20 roles at 11 companies, 9 of them IT operations analysts at Sezzle.
- Data centre IT technicians: 12 roles, all at Nebius.
- Help desk, service desk and desktop support: the 11 roles above.
In-house IT is mostly office work. Only 30 of the 157 roles are remote, and most of those are Truelogic’s systems administrators and Sezzle’s IT operations roles.

Where IT support jobs are
Counting each role once for every country it lists:
| Country | Open IT support roles |
|---|---|
| United States | 134 |
| India | 38 |
| United Kingdom | 31 |
| Ireland | 21 |
| Canada | 17 |
| Singapore | 15 |
| Japan | 14 |
| Germany | 11 |
| Colombia | 10 |
| Mexico | 9 |
| Brazil | 8 |
12 roles name no country. By city, San Francisco leads with 35 roles, then New York (22), London (21), Dublin and Singapore (15 each), and Tokyo (12). Dublin, Singapore and Tokyo each hold 3% to 4% of the IT support roles, two to four times their share of all IT roles at the same companies, while San Francisco’s share is lower (9%, against 14% of all IT roles). Between them, those three cities cover European and Asian working hours.
Remote IT support jobs
94 of the 396 roles are remote, 103 hybrid and 60 on-site; 139 don’t say. The kind of role matters more than the company:
| Kind of role | Remote | Open roles |
|---|---|---|
| Technical support engineers | 52 | 160 |
| Systems administrators | 11 | 22 |
| IT operations | 9 | 20 |
| In-house IT support and IT engineers | 8 | 56 |
| Business systems and other | 7 | 45 |
| Technical support specialists and analysts | 5 | 34 |
| IT management, compliance and projects | 2 | 36 |
| Data centre IT technicians | 0 | 12 |
| Help desk, service desk, desktop support | 0 | 11 |
Of the 94 remote roles, 16 are open to people in the United States only, 10 in Latin America, 7 in Europe, and 3 from anywhere in the world; 38 don’t say where they hire. Remote IT support roles, live.
What IT support jobs pay
127 of the 396 roles show a pay range set by the employer: 105 in US dollars, 7 in Canadian dollars, 7 in euros, 2 in pounds, 1 in Australian dollars and 5 in other currencies.
For the 90 roles with a yearly US dollar range, half start at $128,500 or more and half reach $194,600 or more at the top. By kind:
| Kind of role | Yearly US dollar ranges | Middle of the low ends | Middle of the high ends |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technical support engineers | 31 | $130,200 | $192,100 |
| In-house IT support and IT engineers | 14 | $100,000 | $152,500 |
The other kinds have fewer than 10 yearly US dollar ranges each, too few for a middle value. These are the ranges the employers wrote on their own postings, all of them for roles in the United States, and many US postings give different ranges by region. They describe what these companies say they will pay for these roles, not what IT support pays in general.

How this data was collected
Tideline reads the public job boards of the 433 tech companies it follows, hosted on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, every day. It does not read job sites or aggregators, and it does not cover every employer. On 3 November 2026, 429 of those companies had open roles, 26,279 in all, of which 11,708 were in the ten IT fields Tideline tracks. IT support and operations is one of them, and this article counts all 396 of its roles.
Data notes:
- Tideline puts a role in IT support and operations from its title. The kinds above group those titles further; each role is counted once, in the first kind its title fits, and the grouping rules are in the data file for this article.
- 243 of the 396 roles do not state a level, so this article does not split them by seniority. Of the rest, 54 are senior, 32 manager, 23 lead or staff, 12 mid-level, 14 entry level, 10 internships and 8 director.
- Country and city counts overlap, because a role can list several places.
- The pay figures are the middle values of the posted ranges’ low ends and high ends, not averages, and they are given only where at least 10 postings in one currency and period show a range.
- The figures describe the companies Tideline follows on 3 November 2026, not the whole job market. Companies that use other careers software are not in these numbers.
